クマの出没に注意/Beware of bears

9月中旬から下呂市内にもクマの出没・目撃が増えています。白川郷では海外の観光客の方がクマに襲われる事件もありました。

Since mid-September, bear sightings have been increasing in Gero City. In Shirakawa-go, a foreign tourist was attacked by a bear.

下呂市内でも山や森林地へのお出かけは、ご注意頂かないといけません。

Even within Gero City, you should be careful when going into mountains or forest areas.

さすがに温泉街での目撃情報はありませんが、車で5分圏内のところでクマを目撃したという情報はあります。

There have been no reports of bear sightings in the hot spring town, but there are reports of bears being spotted within a five-minute drive.

クマは、人間が居ると分かると近づいては来ません。鈴やラジオなど人が居ると分からせる事が重要です。また、見つかった時は背中を見せず距離を取って逃げる事が重要です。クマに逢わないようにする事が一番ですね!!

Bears will not approach if they know there are humans around. It is important to let them know there are people around by using bells or radios. Also, if you are spotted, it is important to run away without turning your back on them, keeping your distance. The best thing is to avoid encountering a bear!!
